If you’ve been scrolling through true wireless earbuds trying to find something that doesn’t sound thin or tinny, the JBL Vibe Beam is a name that comes up often, so we dug into what makes it tick.
The Sound: JBL’s Signature Deep Bass
JBL didn’t just slap their name on generic earbuds. The Vibe Beam uses 8mm drivers built around JBL’s Deep Bass Sound profile, which means your music, movies, and calls come through with a punch that a lot of similarly priced earbuds simply can’t match. If you’re someone who likes bass-forward genres — hip-hop, EDM, pop — this is where the Vibe Beam earns its keep.
Comfort You Actually Forget About
The stick-style, closed-ear design is shaped to sit snugly without digging in, which matters if you’re wearing these for a full workday or a long commute. The closed design also happens to do double duty: it naturally blocks out some ambient noise, which makes the bass feel even fuller.
Battery Life That Keeps Up With Your Day
This is where the Vibe Beam really stands out. You get 8 hours of playback in the earbuds themselves, and the charging case holds another 24 hours on top of that — 32 hours total before you need a wall outlet. And if you’re in a rush, a 10-minute speed charge buys you another 2 hours of listening time. For most people, that means charging once every few days, not every night.
Built for Real Life, Not Just the Gym
With an IP54 rating on the earbuds and IPX2 on the case, sweat, rain, and dust aren’t a dealbreaker. Whether it’s a beach trip, a bike trail, or just getting caught in the rain on your walk home, the Vibe Beam is built to handle it.
Hands-Free Calls Without the Awkwardness
The built-in VoiceAware feature lets you dial in how much of your own voice you hear while on a call — a small detail, but anyone who’s ever shouted into earbuds because they couldn’t hear themselves will appreciate it.
Who Should Buy This
- Anyone who wants noticeably better bass than stock or generic earbuds, without paying flagship prices
- Commuters and gym-goers who need real all-day battery life
- People who’ve had earbuds fall out mid-workout and want a more secure, closed-ear fit
Who Might Want to Look Elsewhere
- If you prefer an open-ear design for outdoor awareness (traffic, announcements), this closed-fit style isn’t for you
- Audiophiles chasing a flat, neutral sound signature may find the bass emphasis a bit much
